What you'll read
Three mornings
Each day is two pages: a short reading, then a prayer, one small step and lines to write on. If you miss a day, pick up where you left off.
-
Day 1Name what you're waiting for
Psalm 27:13-14
Worry stays loud when it stays vague. Put your waiting into one sentence you can hand to God.
-
Day 2You are allowed to be tired
Isaiah 40:31
Some seasons don't feel like flying. They feel like walking, slowly, with groceries in both hands.
-
Day 3New mercy for this morning
Lamentations 3:22-23
A bad yesterday doesn't decide today. This morning still comes with new mercy.
Day 1
Name what you're waiting for
Psalm 27:13-14Still I am certain to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!
David, the shepherd who became Israel's king, wrote many of the psalms. In this one he speaks of enemies and asks God for help. He says "wait" twice, as if once wasn't enough to convince himself. That's honest. Waiting is rarely a single decision. It's a decision you make again on Tuesday, and again on the night you can't sleep.
Before we can wait well, it helps to say plainly what we're waiting for. A lot of our worry stays loud because it stays vague.
“They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!”Lamentations 3:23
